Perioral Lines

Perioral lines are linear wrinkles that spread out from the border of the mouth. These often start as very fine lines but can become deeper and more pronounced over time. In this area of the face these lines are often hard to cover up, and when applying lipstick, you may notice that it will spread into these lines.  These lines are commonly called ‘smoker’s lines’. However, they can also be caused by the natural aging process and genetics, therefore can develop in people who have never smoked.

An effective treatment option is to inject a small amount of hyaluronic acid filler into this area to fill the lines. This results in a much more hydrated and younger appearance to the mouth.
